Dr. Chetan C. Shatapathy is a medical doctor, who completed his MBBS and MD degrees at the prestigious JIPMER Medical Institute in Pondicherry, India. Moving to the UK on an international scholarship in 2005, he completed his PhD in Stem Cell Biology from King’s College London, University of London, in 2009. Since then he has been engaged in the research and development of new medicines and vaccines, and is currently a senior executive in a global pharmaceutical company, working on developing new cancer treatments. Born in the Indian state of Odisha, he grew up in South India, and can speak 10 languages. Chetan is happily married with one son, and is a passionate advocate for the rights of differently abled persons. The son of a pioneering heart surgeon, Dr. Pitambar Shatapathy, Chetan hails from a reputed family of renowned Odia pundits, and has a deep interest in Sanatana Dharma and it’s philosophy. He was actively involved in the construction of a Jagannath Temple in Puducherry in India, and is an ardent proponent of Jagannath Culture.
